Jericho Farms & Nursery

Just a couple of "old-folks" with a dream

ABOUT
A Christian Conservative is not anything a certain US Senator wanted to have anything to do with so he destroyed my career as a Talk Show Host.  As someone who always preached "Personal Responsibility" I had to live what I preached.  So I had to learn how to build a barn, run a tractor, plow a field, plant a crop, care for a crop and after 8-years I am still not sure you can call me a farmer...but Lord knows I am trying.

After my career was destroyed we were left with nothing and so building this farm and nursery is everything, particularly as we approach our "Golden Years". Translation: this better work or we're going to starve!!!

So we may not be the prettiest Farm and Plant Nursery you have ever been to but please know we are putting EVERYTHING we have into it and we are so grateful for you choosing to give us an opportunity to earn your trust.

Plant, Grow, and Care for Peony Flowers

Plant, Grow, and Care for Peony Flowers

Why peony bushes grow large and do not bloom at all or blooms very poorly with just a fewer flowers on the entire bush. The standard explanation may be fine for beginners, but I also know that when planted correctly, peonies very often do not bloom also. It is known that the pieces of roots remaining in the ground after transplanting a peony at a depth of even 30-40 cm can regrow again and form a bush and bloom on their own after 2 years. And sometimes properly buried buds can be on the surface when the soil is washed out or eroded and require hilling and adding soil. In short, the plant can choose a comfortable position for optimal growth and flowering even on its own.
